What does Gretchen Rubin’s “The Happiness Project” have to do with Chronically Distracted?
The idea came out of a brainstorming session, really. We thought – “Hey! We could totally start our own happiness project and chronicle the entire exercise on the blog.” And here we are. It’s going to be awesome – and hard – but we’re beyond excited and we want you to join us on this journey!
What’s next?
You should go get yourself a copy of “The Happiness Project.” The book is available in paperback and in digital format. You can probably find it at your local library too but we recommend buying a copy of your own to make notes in the margins.
Rubin tackled a different theme each month (vitality, work, marriage). We like her model, so we’re not going to re-invent the wheel but expect the monthly topics to be slightly rearranged.
Each week we’ll focus on one of the following: our resolutions, what our plan is to implement these resolutions, a progress report, and our results. Sign up for the Weekly Dose of Happiness Newsletter on the Join In page to receive the prompt for the week on Monday, then come back and linky up on Thursday!
If you didn’t know, this blog is co-authored by Maegan and Wendy – check out our about page for more on who we are. Wendy will post on Monday, Tuesday is Feature Day, Maegan will post on Wednesday, the writing prompt linky opens on Thursday, and Friday we’ll feature a guest blogger. We’re taking the weekends off because we have families, other blogs, and Pinterest, you know?
Don’t be afraid to shoot us a question. We’re always around on the Twitter and the Facebook!
